The Connecticut Legislature will go into a special session soon to consider extending voting by absentee ballot and other issues. It's imperative that we take immediate action and let our voices be heard on the importance of extending the option to vote by absentee ballot as we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We know there have been concerns raised about such legislation passing due to the threat and fear of voter fraud, but we cannot give into that fear and need to support and pass legislation that will allow absentee ballots to be cast through November for the upcoming presidential election. The New Haven Metropolitan Chapter is initiating a Letter Writing Campaign and encourage you to write to your state representatives to vote in favor of extending voting by absentee ballots to continue to protect our health and to support our democracy and the right to vote.
